Ming Wu

Registered Psychotherapist

As a Gestalt-trained psychotherapist, I work in an experiential way with my clients to support them in processing their emotions by using active listening, discussion, art, inner- and outer- dialogues, & psychodrama. I also use the Somatic Experiencing method (processing the body's sensations) to help clients move through their traumatic experiences.

My Clients

I worked with newcomer youth & their families for many years, supporting them with emotional and academic challenges, and followed my passion for the emotional and therapeutic aspects of my work. I am a sex-positive therapist. As a POC Woman, I am passionate about supporting people of colour.

My Focus

I provide therapy sessions online and in person at Yonge & St. Clair to people in Toronto, and usually support immigrants and newcomers to Canada who are dealing with depression and anxiety, traumatic experiences, high stress level, life-transitioning situations such as dealing with break ups, career changes, moving to a new country, and adjusting to a new environment.

My Approach

Beyond modalities, I am a human being, ready and passionate to be present with the other person who walks into my therapeutic space to meet, talk, share, experiment and be. 

I find, when we are connecting with the intention of being present, the path of healing will unfold itself in front of us. With our growing awareness, we will also be able to create a space together, that will include and welcome every part of us taking their time to come into this sphere. When we land in this space, we will find it is beyond judgement, opinion, emotionality, and right or wrong. We will find acceptance, kindness, warmth and clarity. We will slow down time, to breathe, feel, sense and process.

I am respectful with where you are at in your life and I take you seriously in your struggle. I believe you are the expert in your life and it is my role to be with you, to listen, to offer insights and to have faith in your ability to change.
